The inaugural Institute of Biomedical Science Awards have opened for entries. Marking an exciting expansion of Redactive’s longstanding relationship with the IBMS.
The agency and Institute have worked in partnership since 2016 to publish its award-winning, multimedia membership magazine, The Biomedical Scientist. Redactive also manages the IBMS job board and launched and runs its virtual CPD event The Biomedical Scientist Live.
This new awards scheme – to be known as the IBMS Awards – is designed to recognise the people, teams and organisations delivering outstanding work in the biomedical science profession. Already attracting its first sponsor – bioMérieux.
IBMS Chief Executive, David Wells said: “I am proud to launch the IBMS Awards and give our members the chance to celebrate excellence in biomedical science across the UK. The ceremony will shine a light on innovative practice, outstanding individuals and teams, and help to raise the profile of our profession.”
The 11 categories to choose from include recognition for both organisations and individuals, covering:
- Team of the Year
- Laboratory of the Year
- Best Use of Research, Innovation or Technology
- Training & Development
- Partnership Working
- Sustainability
- Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI)
- Educational Institution
- Public Engagement
- Rising Star
- Biomedical Science Leader
