Facilitate – the owned media brand of the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM) – was named Best Association Digital Transformation at this year’s Association Excellence Awards.
Judges called Facilitate’s evolution: “a stellar example of how a digital transition driven by deep understanding of the audience’s needs can future fit a professional body’s content strategy, at the same time opening commercial opportunities for valuable new revenue streams.”
As well as the Facilitate Daily newsletter now achieving average open rates in excess of industry norms, judges were swayed by year-on-year increases in traffic and engagement across the board, with facilitatemagazine.com experiencing a significant increase in visitors.
The statistics also show the title’s digital performance being firmly in line with IWFM objectives, with a greater proportion of female users now visiting the site (36%) and a younger age profile, three in five visitors now being under the age of 44.
This data feeds back into an overarching content strategy that is constantly evolving and increasing in sophistication as further in-market segmentation insights are gathered.
Redactive’s entry on behalf of its work with IWFM detailed the changes made across the board in response to the organisation’s evolving engagement, environmental and business objectives as the Institute itself was rebranded and adapted to the pandemic’s impact on member interactions. These included the site’s relaunch alongside the magazine’s change in print frequency and the continuing evolution of the title’s place within the IWFM communications portfolio.
Redactive had further reasons to celebrate at the awards ceremony, held at the New Connaught Rooms in London. Accolades for our work with membership clients in categories across the board included:

This award is a very welcome recognition of the hard work done behind the scenes by our two teams. This is important work that can so easily slip under the radar, yet in my experience it’s never been so well aligned. What’s especially pleasing is that the ways in which we collaborate on behalf of our member users has been assessed and found top of class by an organisation that looks at the work of other membership bodies to establish what constitutes best practice.
