Last night 17 plucky individuals made their yearly pilgrimage to the hallowed turf of Kenilworth Road. Where is that you may say? Well, dear friends, it is home to the mighty Luton Town Football Club of League Two, and the venue for our annual soccerball match against the National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC).
It was an amazing evening of football. With perfect weather conditions, Redactive took to the field of dreams and dominated from the kickoff. With great work from Aaron, ‘The Gaffer”, Rish and Alex in midfield, and from Matt and Ben in defence, we went in at half time 3-1 up. The second half got under way with some changes and saw NICEIC trying to creep back into the game with a few attacks.
The second half got under way with NICEIC trying to creep back into the game with a few attacks. Thankfully, our defence held solid. Redactive continued to turn the screw and scored a couple more goals making the score 4-2.
After some more great play down the left and right sides, and with good defending from NICEIC, Redactive managed to score two more goals making the final score 6-2.
Goals on the day were scored by Alex, Julian, Jason (Gary’s mate) Matt Brading, Nathan (my mate) and an own goal from NICEIC. Aaron popped up with three assists (so he tells me) but put in a strong shift in midfield. Well done to everyone who came down – a fine effort from everyone. Special mentions go to Alex, Rish, Ben, Matt, Julian and Drew who all put in a great effort last night, with ‘man of the match’ honours going to Alex.
