The Society for Education and Training (SET), part of the Education and Training Foundation (ETF), has appointed Redactive to produce its member journal, inTuition, after competitive tender.

Redactive will provide content strategy, editorial, design, advertising, and print and digital distribution services.

Published quarterly, inTuition is distributed to 20,000 SET members – professionals working across the Further Education (FE), vocational teaching and training sector.

SET and Redactive have worked together to produce a new content structure and design for the 40-page publication that will provide members with news, advice, and research to keep them informed and help enhance their performance.

The first issue under Redactive management, out in mid-May 2020, is a 16-page special edition produced to enable SET to communicate with and provide advice to its members during the lockdown. The special issue content includes:

  • Developing online learning
  • Mental wellbeing advice for teachers and trainers during the lockdown
  • CPD support and remote working guidance including inspirational case studies

The first full issue of inTuition under Redactive’s management will be published in June.

Martin Reid, Director of SET at the ETF, says of the new relationship: “inTuition is our flagship publication for members. It has the largest circulation for any publication in the FE sector and is highly valued by our members. In choosing Redactive we wanted to work with a partner who shared our vision for delivering content in an even more relevant and accessible way. I am looking forward to enhancing the publication further including improving the way it can be accessed online.”

Aaron Nicholls, Director of Redactive, adds: “We’re thrilled to be working with SET. Our teams have forged a strong working relationship already and we are excited at the prospect of delivering valuable content for SET’s member teachers, trainers and leaders that inspires them to inspire their learners. The special issue, produced quickly to enable SET to provide its members with support during the lockdown, has been a rewarding project to be involved in. The addition of inTuition and SET to our portfolio further develops our work in education, joining the award-winning journal, Impact, produced for the Chartered College of Teaching and Governing Matters, the new-look magazine of the National Governance Association.”
