Partnership with ukactive
ukactive are a not-for-profit health body campaigning to get more people, more active, more often. Redactive has worked with ukactive on developing their communication channels for the last twelve months, via media sales for their membership magazine, Together, and as publisher of the ukactive annual handbook.
What is National Fitness Day?
Powered by ukactive, National Fitness Day is the largest nationwide celebration of physical activity. On 7 September 2016, gyms, leisure centres and health clubs across the country will offer free sessions to promote and encourage physical activity. Last year’s event was a spectacular success: nearly 2,000 venues ran free exercise sessions, reaching 27 million people. The aim is to make the 2016 event even bigger and better.
How will we be taking part?
In preparation for National Fitness Day, Redactive employees have been planking and squatting to build their strength, as well as making the most of the subsidised Virgin Active gym membership Redactive offers to all staff. On 7 September the company will host the Redactive Plank Finals: participating employees will perform a plank and attempt to beat the current record of 5 minutes.
Aaron Nicholls, Director at Redactive, said:
“We’re very excited and proud to be involved in this year’s National Fitness Day. It will encourage Redactive staff to enjoy some friendly competition whilst promoting the importance of fitness and supporting ukactive’s mission.”
