RCM Annual Conference

Uniting the UK’s midwives to inspire, learn and share

Client: The Royal College of Midwives (RCM) – the voice of midwifery and the UK's only trade union and professional organisation led by midwives for midwives and those who support them.

Event: The UK-wide RCM Annual Conference and Exhibition is a unique forum for discussion, learning and inspiration sharing for all midwives and everyone with an interest in maternity services today.

Challenge: To engage the widest possible audience of members. Facilitating networking and boosting morale for the profession while communicating RCM policy, information and education. Revenues must be generated to cover costs – and leave a surplus.

Thank you so much for delivering for us again another fabulous conference. The Twitter feed and app is just chocka with comments from delegates about what a wonderful conference they have had. We really appreciate the energy, enthusiasm and commitment of the entire Redactive team in giving our members such a high quality, friendly and well run experience.

Solution: Since 2017, the event has been completely free to all RCM members. Improving inclusivity and accessibility, and making it easier for a wider pool of the RCM’s 48,000 members to participate.

To mitigate the loss of income from delegate fees, increased sponsorship and exhibition revenue has been secured by delivering a greater audience to suppliers than ever before. After two years held virtually, the largest midwifery event in the UK returns to a live event for 2022.

Results:

Net promoter score of 60 – categorising brand engagement as ‘excellent’*

91% of delegates agreed that attending is valuable for CPD*

3,000+ attendees are expected in 2022

Recognition:

2019 Association Excellence Awards, Best Longstanding Association Event

2019 & 2018 Memcom Excellence Awards, Highly Commended Membership Event of the Year

2015 UK Conference Awards, Best Development of an Existing Conference
