The 2018 CIPFA Annual Conference and Exhibition, the UK’s premier conference for professionals working in public finance and accountancy, took place on 11-12 July at the International Centre in Bournemouth.

The theme was ‘Talent, Technology, Transformation: Mapping a Digital Future’ and delegates heard from global economists, thought-leaders, tech pioneers and change management experts, who discussed and debated the opportunities and challenges presented by the impact of technology on the public finance sector. Insightful talks on everything from government housing to protection of personal data were given by expert key speakers such as MP Rishi Sunak and investigative journalist Carole Cadwalladr. Other speakers included BBC News broadcaster Anita Anand, Chief Executive of RSA Matthew Taylor and CIPFA’s Director of Counter Fraud Peter Wilson. You can view a full list of this year’s speakers here.

This two-day conference was attended by 700 delegates and around 60 sponsors and exhibitors, including Zurich Municipal, Oracle, and Lloyds Bank.
